Ingredients list

  • Olive oil
  • Paccheri pasta, cooked
  • Bolognese sauce, premade or store bought
  • Cheddar Cheese and mozzarella cheese
  • Bechamel sauce (with two eggs)

Method

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
  • Prepare the pan: Grease a springform pan with olive oil spray.
  • Arrange pasta: Stand paccheri pasta tubes upright around the pan, supporting them with your hands until they can lean against each other and fill the pan.
  • Once the pasta tubes are stacked, pour your favourite bolognese sauce over them, ensuring it’s slightly runny to flow down the pasta tubes. Tap the pan gently to settle the sauce into the paccheri.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the pasta and sauce.
  • Prepare a basic bechamel sauce and once cooled add in the eggs (allow to cool to prevent curdling). Pour this mixture over the cheese-topped pasta.
  • Sprinkle another layer of cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the bechamel sauce.
  • Bake in the oven at 180°C for 30-40 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the pasta is cooked through.
