Fresh scones

Ingredients list
- 3 ½ cups self-raising flour (sifted)
- 1 cup lemonade
- 1 cup thickened cream
- A pinch of salt (optional)
- Egg wash: 1 egg mixed with 1 tbsp milk
- Strawberry jam
- Whipped cream
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (or 180°C for fan-forced ovens).
- In a bowl, combine the sifted flour, lemonade, and cream (add salt if desired) until just mixed.
- On a clean, lightly floured surface, gently press out the dough and cut it into scone shapes.
- Place the cut scones onto a parchment-lined baking tray and brush the tops with the egg wash.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
- Serve warm with jam and freshly whipped cream.
